The Barrel Race is one of the largest fundraisers Horses with Heart hosts each year. We rely on support from the community and many volunteers to insure the event is successful. Proceeds raised are used to support our Therapeutic Riding program for individuals with special needs, veterans, first responders, and our senior community.

We encourage you to attend our Barrel Race. We have a beautiful and heart warming Grand Entry at 10:15, that includes an antique tractor pulling a hay wagon carrying our special needs riders and instructors. Also, we will have a veteran from each branch of the military on horseback. Come out to see the talented racers and the amazing horses they ride. Bid on our wonderful Silent Auction items and purchase raffle tickets. It is really a fun and exciting day.

Silent Auction:

Our silent auction this year will be themed baskets. Create one yourself or gather your friends to each solicit or purchase an item to create a basket. We already have commitments for a Pet Grooming Caddy with Tools, Barrel Race Items, Just for Her, a Gift Card Assortment, Work Accessories for Him, Young Adult Horse Books. Anything goes. We have bidders of all ages, adults and children. Baskets can be turned into the office. Donation forms and receipts are available at Horses with Heart.

Private Barrel Riding Session - Besty Lemarie

Learn from one of our own. Local barrel racer and horse trainer Betsy Lemaire. She has an unique knowledge and understanding of Barrel horses and riders. Located in Wickenburg, AZ at Lemaire Barrel Training, Betsy offers a one-hour private session for you and your horse.

Session must be scheduled and complete by March 31, 2024.

Private Pole Bending Session - Crystal Logan

Schedule your private Pole Bending session with our local racer and Pole Bending coach, Crystal Logan. Crystal has over 50 years riding, competing, and training people and horses. “Through my years of training horses and students, I have had good success. Many of them qualified for the National High School Rodeo Finals in pole bending.” Located in North Phoenix, Crystal offers a one-hour private session for you and your horse.

Session must be scheduled and complete by March 31, 2024.

Crystal Logan

My name is Crystal Logan, I am a horse trainer, riding instructor, and a barrel racing and polebending coach. And I am the daughter of Wayne Sandberg who wrote a book called “NineteenSecond Pole Bending”. My Dad was always my coach as I grew up competing in the barrel racing and pole bending events. He always encouraged me to improve and learn more about riding and competing, so I have been doing that for over 50 years now riding, competing, and training people and horses. “Through my years of training horses and students, I have had good success. Many of them qualified for the National High School Rodeo Finals in pole bending.”
